Notes:

He was a Farmer in Hoton & Burton on the Wolds, but in 1876 after sever al poor harvests and bad conditions generally for farming he was declared bankrupt. He sold all his animals and farming equipment and moved to Buxton in Derbyshire where they had a Boarding House where visitors to t he town could stay. Buxton at that time, was a Spa town and many people visited to take the waters, some visiting regularly and staying for extensive courses of treatment. William died Dec 1882 in Buxton. Anne died 13 Nov 1902 - the same day that her granddaughter (my mother) was born.
